Patterns for Tao: Traditional Chinese Patterns and Innovative Design Art Exhibition in Cambridge
About this event
Chinese traditional patterns and designs are the essences imprinted in the memories of human historical development, which provide an eternal nexus for the origin, inheritance and prospering of civilization. Meanwhile, they deliver the internal rules and philosophical thinking of the aesthetics of nature. Patterns for Tao Art Exhibition is a collaboration with multiple museums and academic institutions in Guizhou Province. Dozens of Chinese traditional textile and cultural relics were carefully selected to be shown on this special occasion. This exhibition contains three main parts: Chinese traditional costumes; Chinese pattern paintings; and Chinese pattern creative designs. Visitors can fully immerse themselves in these works of art and experience the transformation and development of patterns in Chinese traditional textiles. Artworks created by teachers and students from the Art College of Minzu University will also be displayed. These works have retained strong and unique artistic features, to demonstrate the evolution of patterns in folk arts.
