Dear Partners and Friends,

Welcome to the CUDC September Newsletter!

We hope you had a great and fruitful summer and enjoyed plenty of sunshine! We are all very excited to give you a quick recap of our summer events with an update on our upcoming programmes. Hope you will enjoy our September newsletter and thank you for keeping in touch with us!

SUMMER STUDENT PROGRAMMES

This summer was one of the busiest summers to date for CUDC, welcoming over 450 students enrolled at many different universities across, who joined one of our 16 academic programmes delivered by University of Cambridge academics who are experts in their fields, supplemented by visits to relevant institutions and organisations to shed light on for instance the judiciary system in the UK for the Law programme.

We would like to thank all our partner institutions, organisations, and academics who worked tirelessly with us this summer. Special thanks go to St John’s College, Clare Hall, Sidney Sussex College and Westminster College who all played crucial roles in our summer programmes, offering our students one of the most remarkable and unforgettable summer experiences.

ACADEMIC TRAINING PROGRAMME

This summer CUDC created a joint academic training programme for academics of Beijing Information Science & Technology University (BISTU) by leading discussions between Clare Hall, University of Cambridge and BISTU. This joint programme constitutes of academics from BISTU attending a 3-week training programme at Clare Hall, University of Cambridge. Lectures and training in this particular programme were carried out by academics from Clare Hall, University of Cambridge and academics associated with other Cambridge University Colleges. The programme has been a huge success for all parties involved.

CHINA CULTURAL VISIT

This September, six students from St John’s College, University of Cambridge visited different regions of China including Shanghai, Hangzhou and Xi’an. They paid a visit to several of our partner universities in China including Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University and Zhejiang University of Finance & Economics. St John’s College students had the opportunity to learn about Chinese culture and way of life during this visit and students from participating universities in China had a chance to learn about the education system in the UK. This cultural exchange experience has also been very beneficial to those who may wish to come to the UK for postgraduate studies.

INVITING ACADEMICS TO VISIT OR WORK IN CHINA

To enhance internationalisation, our partner universities in China would like to invite academics from various universities across the UK to visit China. Visits can be sponsored to cover costs and will enable academics from UK universities to discuss potential collaboration and partnership opportunities with their peers from China.

Our partner universities from China have appointed us to recruit academics in different fields on their behalf. Universities from China offer academics from around the globe a competitive salary as well as annual fully-paid return tickets to visit home country.

Please contact us for more information.
