Clare Hall Alumni Events in Beijing and Shanghai

CUDC was delighted to organise the Clare Hall lifetime member events in Shanghai and Beijing in the past month.

We reached out to not only Clare Hall alumni but also the entire Cambridge alumni network in China and took care of the whole logistics in order to ensure successful gatherings. Stephen Bourne, the Vice President of Clare Hall, and Marie Janson, the Development Director of Clare Hall attended both events.

On the evening of 7th December, Stephen and Marie had the chance to meet, during a dinner, 5 people linked to Clare Hall: an alumnus, the parents of a current student and two friends of a former member of the college. Our director Dr. Jason Zheng Jiang, who is also a lifetime member of Clare Hall attended the event.

During the dinner, the alumni shared their individual stories about the progress of their personal and professional experiences after Cambridge. In return, they benefited from the news brought by Stephen and Marie about the College community and its recent developments and achievements. As a matter of fact, Clare Hall has recently admitted the Cambridge University Vice-Chancellor as Fellow of the College. Furthermore, they underlined that they are willing to maintain the size of the college to make sure everyone in College is connected and able to share new prospects and opportunities all around the world.

We met with 5 Clare Hall lifetime members during the dinner. Here again, they had the chance to share their personal experiences and achievements. At the end of the gathering, on behalf of Jason and CUDC, Michael received a College scarf from Marie as a thank you gift for CUDC’s organisation of both events in China.
